The European Alternative Fuels Observatory (EAFO) has updated its latest preliminary data covering registrations in 13 of the 27 EU Member States in June 2026. Battery-electric vehicle (BEV) registrations reached 238,897, up 41.5% compared with June 2025, while BEVs represented 25.3% of new passenger-car registrations. Publicly accessible recharging infrastructure reached 1,170,493 points, an increase of 18.0% compared with June 2025.

Across the 13 reporting EU Member States, BEV registrations rose by 41.5% year on year in June 2026. Growth was strongest in Slovenia (+208%), France (+92.1%), Italy (+86.4%) and Germany (+78.0%). France and Germany also recorded the largest absolute volumes, reaching 55,851 and 84,057 registrations respectively. Most reporting countries showed clear growth, while Ireland (-10.1%) and Sweden (-24.2%) were the only markets to decline.

BEVs accounted for 25.3% of new passenger-car registrations. Publicly accessible recharging infrastructure reached 1,170,493 points, up 18.0% compared with June 2025, continuing to support the wider transition to electric mobility.
