This article provides an overview of the electrification of the vehicle market in Poland in 2025, focusing on battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). All information included is based on verifiable public sources. 1. EV registrations in 2025 After a challenging 2024, in which BEV sales fell by 3%, 2025 became a record year for electromobility in Poland, with registrations for new BEVs reaching record levels. BEVs accounted for 6.73% of new passenger car registrations in Poland in 2025, with significantly higher shares observed in the final months of the year, and PHEVs accounted for 5.3%. In total, 37,917 BEVs and 28,143 were registered through 2025, representing an increase of 102% in the case of BEVs and 88% for PHEVs when compared to 2024. All the increase was thanks to light vehicles: BEV passenger cars and light commercial vehicles went from 18,428 in 2024 to 37,652 in 2025, whereas PHEVs grew from 14,902 to 28,143 in that same period. Heavy vehicles meanwhile presented a slight decline, with electric trucks going from 121 to 107 units, and electric buses going from 195 to 158 units in this same period. Monthly view of AF Market share of total registrations (M1) in 2025 Percentage of newly registered electric passenger cars (M1) per month compared to total registrations. 2. BEV and PHEV Fleet By the end of 2025, Poland’s passenger car fleet included approximately 121,606 BEVs and 116,043 PHEVs, resulting in a combined electrified passenger vehicle fleet of around 237,649 vehicles. 4. Charging Infrastructure Poland continued to expand its public charging infrastructure in 2025. By the end of the year, there were approximately 11,762 publicly accessible charging points (+36% compared to 22024), including around 4,400 DC fast-charging points. A significant number of new charging stations were commissioned in 2025, particularly along major transport corridors. 5. Best-Selling BEV Brands and Models Tesla remained the leading BEV brand in Poland in 2025, with the Tesla Model Y (923 units) being the most frequently registered battery electric passenger car, followed by Audi and BYD. Other strong-performing brands included BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, Kia, and Citroën. 6. Market Expectations for 2026 Continued growth of the BEV and PHEV market in Poland is expected in 2026, supported by expanding charging infrastructure and increasing model availability. However, uncertainty remains regarding the availability and structure of purchase incentive programs, which may influence the pace of market development.
