- Ownership tax benefits
BEVs are exempt from paying annual car tax. PHEVs pay car tax with at least 50% reduced rate, which is decided by local governments.
- Purchase subsidies
Rabla Plus: This program provides eco-tickets ranging from €2,600 to €6,250 when scrapping an old polluting vehicle and purchasing a new BEV or plug-in hybrid (PHEV). The amount depends on the CO2 emissions and category of the new vehicle.
Rabla: Although primarily meant for non-electric vehicles, this program still offers a smaller eco-ticket of €1,500 for scrapping an old car and buying a new PHEV with CO2 emissions exceeding 78g/km.
- Other financial benefits
600 million RON (1,2 million EUR) available for the replacement of school minibuses. 2,500-3,000 schools wil receive e-buses.
- AF infrastructure incentives
A refund of a maximum of 2.500 euros for Stations < 22kW and 30.000 euros for Stations > 22kW.
- Registration Tax Benefits
Both BEVs and PHEVs are exempt from paying the registration tax, typically ranging from 4% to 16% of the vehicle's value.
PHEVs benefit from a significantly lower annual road tax compared to gasoline cars.
- Local incentives
Free public charging: Several municipalities offer free or discounted charging for electric vehicles in public parking zones.
Preferential parking: Some cities provide designated parking spaces for electric vehicles, closer to shops or with shorter waiting times.
Lower insurance premiums: Some insurance companies offer discounted rates for electric vehicles.- Institutions involved in Incentives
