According to the latest data, the total number of BEVs on Czech roads surpassed 36,000 at the end of 2024, reaching 36,364 vehicles
Nearly 22,000 BEVs were registered in Hungary in 2024, setting a new record. Of these, over 20,000 were passenger cars, representing a significant leap from 2023.
Key Highlights for 2024: New BEV Registrations: 127,750 (+37%). For the first time, electric and hybrid vehicles accounted for 52.3% of all new car registrations.
Overall, Denmark saw 173,047 new passenger cars sold in 2024, a slight 0.2% increase from 2023. Electric cars accounted for 51.5% of total sales, a significant leap forward for green mobility in Denmark.
Total BEV registrations for 2024 reached 64,983 units, representing a modest 1.96% decline compared to 2023. BEVs accounted for just 4.2% of the overall market.
While BEV passenger car sales increased by 7.8%, other segments, such as electric vans (-26.7%) and electric motorcycles (-36.5%), dragged down overall numbers.
BEVs accounted for 94,332 units (-15.9%), representing 35% of total registrations. PHEVs showed resilience, growing by 3.3% YoY to 63,087 units, with a market share of 23.4%.
In 2024, 291,143 BEVs were registered in France, accounting for 16.9% of the market, a slight 0.1 percentage point increase compared to 2023.
In November 2024, 25% of all new car registrations in Europe were plug-in vehicles, with 268,000 units sold.
